The Olympus P-11 delivers first-class printing results that can rival those of professional photo labs. The astonishing quality comes thanks to the dye-sublimation printing process. Up to 16.77 million continuous colour tones are diffused into the paper to return photos with true-to-life gradations – something most ink-jet printers are incapable of achieving no matter how high their dpi-count is. The glossy, borderless A6 (10x15cm) prints are produced within a miniscule 33 seconds. They are UV-resistant and – unlike the normal prints from photo labs – even automatically laminated to guard against environmental influences such as sunlight, dust, humidity and staining.
Any camera supporting the PictBridge standard can be directly attached to the P-11 for completely PC-free printing. Nevertheless, this latest Olympus product is also equipped with a USB interface. It lets images that have been edited or previously stored on a computer be printed out with ease. Measuring just 184.2 x 180.0 x 157.6mm (WxDxH), this attractively-designed photo printer has a remarkably small footprint. And to save additional shelf or desk-top real estate, the tray is located on top of the unit.
